Welding simulators have been shown to significantly improve the results of training effect. This field in recent years attracts more and more attention of researchers. It already has some commercial products of virtual welding simulation system abroad. A welding simulation system with force feedback can enhances the perceived effects of training. The domestic states of welding simulation system has a considerable gap compared to that abroad, it almost has no relevant research on welding simulation system in domestic. Therefore, developing a virtual welding systems which includes a welding machines with force feedback and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) training software has a important value both in the academic and applications.Firstly, this thesis summarizes and outlines research status of the domestic and foreign development situation on virtual welding simulation system in recent years. We classify virtual welding simulation system based on different tracking principles.Secondly, we analyzes the task requirements of shielded metal arc welding and its basic operations. Then, a wearable RPR type of force feedback welding machine with force feedback structured was presented. We detail structure machines, material, transmission and drive program of this type of machines and analysis simply hydrostatic equilibrium problem of this machine.Finally, this thesis summarizes and analyzes the key factors that the impacts the shape of shielded metal arc welding, introduces principle and key technology that force feedback training. it also points out that weld visual feedback technology is the core module of the software. It details simulation software program and major features of virtual welding systems with force feedback. The results show that training software can achieve the desired training effect.
