Studies Of Verapamil Hydrochloride Sustained Release Capsule

Verapamil hydrochloride is a calcium channel antagonist of alkylated aromatic amine developed by Knoll first which came into the germary market in 1963 with the brand name"Isoptin", and was used widly for the treatment of primary hypertension, 18 arrhythmia and angina pectoris.The shortages such as short half-life, unstable antihypertensive effect due to verapamil hydrochloride immediate-release dosage forms can be overcomed by making verapamil hydrochloride into the sustained release capsule. The sustained release dosage form can make the drug release slowly, lessen taken times and enhances the patient compliance.Studis were done about preparation process, analysis method and product stability in this article. The results show that the verapamil hydrochloride sustained-release capsule had a similar release with imported products and stable release profile after the influence factors, acceleration and long-term stability tests.
