The emergence of Anerobic Ammonium oxidation (Anammox)process is a revolutionary discovery in the environmental field. It was considered as the enconomic and efficient method to treat of low carbon and nitrogen waste water. This research was aiming to culture anammox bacteria with sequencing batch biofilm reactor (SBBR), and analyze the start-up period and the best conditions for the anammox bacteria enrichment. At the same time, the community structures were measured and analyzed by using molecular biology methods such as T-RFLP, confocal laser microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The main results can be listed as follows:The start-up phase of sequencing batch biofilm reactor can be divided into three stages: period of instability, transition and high efficiency of remove nitrogen .In the last stage, total nitrogen removal efficiency can reach about 80%. After 90 days, anammox activity was observed.Sludge showed obvious red. The anammox was confirmed though the specific PCR, In the SEM photos, there are a lot of Coccus, it was the same to the formers .after 120 days, the reactor was stable.The source of seed culture plays an important role in nitrogen removal in the same form of different reactor. It also influenced the length of three periods.And there are different dominant bacteria between the two reactor with Candidatus Jettenia asiatica, Anammoxoglobus propionicus respectively.It can improve the total nitrogen loading rate and enrich anammox by shortening HRT gradually. When the HRT is 72h, the total nitrogen loading rate is only 0.02kg-N/m~3d, comparing with 1.57 kg-N/m~3d in 6h. At the same time, anammox reached the maximum of 48.6%.Increased ammonia and nitrite nitrogen molar ratio is helpful to improve the removal rate of ammonia. When the molar ratio increased from 1:1 to 1:1.2, ammonia nitrogen removed rate increased by 17%, which was equal with the total nitrogen loading improving to 0 .206kg-N/m~3d.Our study showed that sequencing batch biofilm reactor(SBBR) was one high performance priming anammox process bioreactor comparing with SBR. The floc formation of inorganic barrier and nitrogen can protect anammox, which result in that dissolved oxygen get into the reactor difficultly. In a word, SBBR has great capacity to prevent oxygen.
