Phenolic is known as high-priority concern pollutant in the environment due toits toxicity and may lead to the accumulation of pollutants. This paper introducesthe status of phenolic wastewater treatment and adsorp the phenol in the wastewaterby activated carbon. Since unmodified activated carbon adsorption of polyphenolsis not efficient, so modified activated carbon tests are needed. This paper test onmodified activated carbon's adsorption isotherm and adsorption dynamicssimulation, and analysis the modified and unmodified activated carbon characterizeby pore surface area, infrared, X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy.This paper introduces the regeneration of saturation activated carbon. Finally, thispaper put simulation test on the actual project with the reaction model, and applyactivated carbon adsorption technology to effectively remove the polyphenols in theactual emergency pollution incident .In the modified activated carbon test ,this dissertation introduced differentconcentrations of ammonia, sodium hydroxide solution, sulfuric acid dippeddifferent time, and also disscuced the temperature influenced on the modifiedactivated carbon adsorption. The results show that, the actived carbon dipped eighthours with 15% concentration of the ammonia have best adsorption capacity, canreach 44.5 mg/g. Modification temperature of modified carbon adsorption alsoeffects on the result, that modification temperature is 10℃can reach goodadsorption effect, continue to increase the temperature, can not improve adsorptioneffect.Regeneration of activated carbon regeneration agent used acetone, ethanol andthe mixture of ethanol and sodium hydroxide, formaldehyde, sodium hydroxidesolution. The results showed that mixture with the concentration of 5% sodiumhydroxide solution and concentration of 10% ethanol regeneration effect is the best,renewable carbon's adsorption capacity can reach 36.7 mg/g. At the same time usethe deionized water flushing of activated carbon adsorption saturated do contrast.From the test results can also see that second regeneration of activated carbonadsorption effect was significantly lower than the first regeneration of activatedcarbon.Coagulation treatment in the sudden pollution is an effective and timely meansto reduce pollution damage to the water as much as possible. This paper test thefacters of activated carbon reactor model,such as the final dosage of the differentpools and different reactions compared with the numbers.The results show that:when the polyphenol concentration is low, regardless of format using active carbon pool and the lower dosage the amount of processing can get better results while inthe higher concentration of polyphenols, the use of sub-grid mixing tank, mixingwith the big pool of cells compared to activated carbon dosage in the samecircumstances, can remove more pollutian . Finally, integration of the above typesof tests proposed polyphenols accidental pollution emergency plan can be easilyobtained corresponding to different scene of sudden pollution conditions, thedosage required for activated carbon and mixed pool construction to ensurecompliance.
