Leachate must be treated before discharge into natural water, Separate treatment and combined treatment are two main Treatment way.Aiming at the problems existing in the combined treatment of landfill leachate and municipal domestic sewage in medium and small towns of the Three Gorges Dam Reservoir Region, through doing Field Research of the region along with small scale experiment and pilot scale experiment, it is definite that the current situation of combined treatment of the landfill leachate and municipal domestic sewage of the Three Gorges Dam Reservoir Region in my paper, find the landfill leachate entry load and main influencing factor of combined treatment of the landfill leachate and municipal domestic sewage in the region. The main result of this paper is the following:1.During the survey, The Three Gorges Dam Reservoir Region sewage treatment plants are designed in accordance with the "Integrated Wastewater Discharge Standard GB8978-1996". Nearly 90% of the sewage treatment plant run the A2 / O process or similar A2 / O process. All the towns under research are using the advantage of the valley terrain to do sanitary landfill when handling with household waste. Landfill leachate varies quite differently from 10 tons to 80 tons per day.2.It is ubiquitous of the cooperative accessing of the landfill leachate and municipal domestic sewage which represents a significant percentage of 89% in the survey of sewage treatment plants in the Three Gorges Dam Reservoir Region. The main impact of landfill leachate on those sewage treatment plants is ammonia nitrogen and TN unqualified after treatment. The design of sewage treatment plant does not require the remove of TN and high ammonia nitrogen of landfill leachate is the main factor of unqualified water effluent.3.Through small scale experiment, the results obtained as follow: ammonia nitrogen sludge loading and COD sludge loading are the main impact to the removal efficiency of COD and ammonia nitrogen.They are also the main factor of deterioration of nitrification and unqualified water effluent.4.Through pilot scale experiment, the results obtained as follow: when landfill leachate and domestic sewage mixed accessing at the influent of TN mean value at 57.11±3.32 mg/L unqualified water effluent(GB 18918-2002). Especially, TN unqualified water effluent and removal efficiency declining.Sludge loading and ratio of carbon to nitrogen are the main reason to limited landfill leachate and municipal domestic sewage mixed further .The research results above-mentioned provided technical support and theoretical basis for the combined treatment of the landfill leachate and municipal domestic sewage of the Three Gorges Dam Reservoir Region.
