Urban domestic landfill leachate is a kind of complex organic wastewater with high concentration. It is not only difficultly treated, but also exists three potential harm (carcinogenic, aberrant and mutagenic characteristic), and greatly jeopardize the aquatic environment, so studying and improving the treatment technology of domestic landfill leachate is a important task in the water treatment field today. In this thesis, the present treatment condition of the municipal solid waste and the landfill leachate of sanitary landfill was analyzed and compared. Aiming at the water quality characteristic of domestic landfill leachate, the anaerobic biological treatment was put forward, and the characteristics, advantages and influential factors was expatiated. Through contrasting the technical and economical index, UASB was selected as a major object studied, and neutralization test was performed. The design parameters are shown as followed: The volume loading rate of COD=3.654.0kg/m3 ยท d, HRT=48h, the removal rate of COD, BOD5 and SS are 60%70%, 60%, and 20% respectively. The result of the neutralization test indicates that UASB, an advanced treatment technique, is provided with high efficiency, low cost and convenient management. In the normal or lowwer temperature and the volume loading designed, the removal rate of COD and BOD5 can be reached between 60%-88% and 92%-97% respectively, and the water quality of effluent can be kept stably with the strong adaptation to the change of the environment and the water quality, what's more, it can runs efficiently under the circumstances of high ammonia nitrogen and low phosphor. In addition, the influential factors and deficiency of the anaerobic biological treatment were analyzed, and the processing scheme and the study prospect were put forward.
