The sewage in small towns is mainly domestic sewage with small water quantity and large fluctuations in water quality. Over the decades ,with the rapid development of small towns and rural economy, the accelerated expansion of urbanization and the increase of village population, the demand for water has multiplied.At the same time, for the shortage of investment and the lack of environmental awareness, Random disposal of small towns and rural domestic wastewater at high increasingly rate has seriously threatened these environment as well as the aquatic environment. Over the years along with the rapid urbanization in China, the sustainable wastewater control technologies have attracted more and more attentions.The research of high-effieient, energy-saving, adaptability and easy management on wastewater is one of popular topic. The process of whirling Clarifier was put forward on domestic wastewater with the patent products-vortex flocculation reactor. Still a series of experiments were obtained some design parameters and designed to study the efficiency on domestic wastewater system.In this paper, through the static test the experiment coagulation was selected, while the influent factors of enhanced coagulation were analyzed. Then the relationships between turbidity and suspended solid(SS) were confirmed. The main contents of experiments include: the effect of Sewage purification was studied by Hydraulic Circulating Clarifier; then adding certain amount of types of HJTM-1 or HJTM-2 micro-whirling reactors into the first vortex flocculation chamber, the effect was reseached on domestic wastewater by Whirling Clarifier;Furthermore through the combination of different current ratio of the reactor,the effect was studied on domestic wastewater by Whirling Clarifier .The principal conclusion were obtained as follows:1. PAC is the optimized coagulation by static experiment through the coagulation effects and properties of PAC,FeCl3. For PAC the optimum pH of turbidity, CODcr and TP removals were between pH 5.5-7.0.2. The relationship between turbidity and the influent SS is obtained by experiment: (1) YSS = 8.1976X浊度-46.008; the relationship between water turbidity and the effluent SS is obtained by experiment: (2) YSS = 2.0769X浊度+0.8059.3. Compared the Hydraulic Circulating Clarifier, Whirling Clarifier adding certain amount of types of HJTM-1 or HJTM-2 micro-whirling reactors into the first vortex flocculation chamber, combined ratio of vortex reactor on domestic wastewater by Whirling Clarifier,the optimal condition was adding the HJTM-2 micro-whirling reactors into the first vortex flocculation chamber and adding the HJTM-2 micro-whirling reactors into the second vortex flocculation chamber. At this condition, the inffluent turbidity was near 33.01NTU(SS was near 224mg/L),the dosage of PAC was 33 mg/L,and the effluent turbidity can maintained near 1.5 NTU(SS was near 4 mg/L). The effluent of SS,TP and CODcr can reach the one standard A, the one standard A and the one standard B of"Discharge Standards of Pollutant for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant"(GB18918-2002).4. Engineering application into the small town of wastewater emissions at 10000m3 / d under the combined use of optimization technology, the running costs of water production is 0.114 yuan/m3.5. Through the results of above: the process of Whirling flocculation had the advantages of strong load, low cost, easy management, stable operation, etc. A series of experiments provided some certain informations to promote the new process on domestic wastewater of small towns and rural area and revealed that the process of Whirling flocculation was the basis for application. Therefore the process was apt to small towns and rural areas for the shortage of economy and the water environment to be improved.
