surface profilometer is one main instrument for measuring the surface of work piece. With the development technology, the requirements for precision of surface profile have been increasing in mechanical working. Contact surface profilometer is one of the most widely used instrument in the application of surface profile measuring. The pointer of Contact surface profilometer has a significant role in measuring. The force of touch between pointer and the surface has an important influence in accuracy of measuring, measuring range and working life of instrument, which reach more and more attention.First, this research introduced the characters of surface profilometer, finding that there are uncontrollable technique problems in the force of probe and objects in the contact surface profilometer at present. It put forward micro-constantforce technology based on magnetomechanics in electromagnetism. This plan can solve the uncontrollable technique problems in the force of probe and objects. Then it discussed the feasibility of micro constant magnetic technology, chose the correct magnet, and designed the magnetic circuit. It also designed and made simulation analysis on magnetic circuit by taking advantage of Maxwell in electromagnetism. After computing the range of stale and constant magnetic fields in different magnetic circuits and torque drive coil has, proper magnetic circuit can be chosen. With these results, experiments are done to check the feasibility. Finally, it introduced the basic principles of surface profile measuring instrument based on micro-constantforce technology and designed the overall structure.In all, this research designed and analyzed touchable surface profile measuring instrument and made some achievements.
