Coke oven is a system of large time-delay, big inertia, strong nonlinear, many factor couplings time-varying parameter. Coking is a heating passage and metamorphosis process, as well as complicate body structure, bad operation condition, few detecting means, therefore flue temperature accuracy control has a certain degree of difficulty. The stability of flue temperature in coke oven is related to coke quality and cost of production directly, that is a key and core of the coke oven heating and burning process control. Stable and homogeneous heating in coke oven has a fundamental significance to improving efficacy and the quality of coke, reducing energy sources consuming and extending coke oven life-span, cutting down environmental pollution in coking process of producing.According to the structural characteristics of coke oven gas pipeline system and the collected pipe size, gas flow, and other data, the mathematical model is established via engineering fluid mechanical principles combined with the actual situation of the piping system. After we get the mathematical model, firstly, it is verified that the model can be solved. Secondly, according to the technical documentation and the measured data provided by Baosteel, the flow distribution is obtained by the model, then compared with the actual flow distribution to show the correctness and usefulness of the mathematical model. Based on the mathematical model, flow distribution is achieved. By fitting the collected coke oven gas temperature and flow data, a formula between the temperature and gas flow is obtained, thus the temperature control problem is transformed to flow control problem. Through the feedback of the error between required temperature distribution and the actual one to the mathematical model, the actual flow distribution is changed to achieve the purpose of regulating the temperature distribution by adjusting the orifice size and other means.The method presented in this paper has been applied to industrial plant, during this process of application, some modification is made to accommodate the actual process situation which provides more accurate guidance for plant. Through repeated practice, satisfactory results are achieved, resulting in more reasonable coke oven temperature distribution.
