Rare earth series elements own a special electronic arrangement which forming a unique energy level, therefore they are able to show a wide range of applications. Contemporary studies of rare earth luminescent material is concentrated on the red light-emit fluorescent materials mixed with element Eu. At present, the red fluorescent materials for civil are to launch red light by doped Y2O2S with the element Eu. After the basic study, it is found that it will make this kind of light-emitting materials possess a higher stability and nontoxic by using Y2O3 as matrix material. Taking these two factors mentioned above into account, this study used Y2O3 as the matrix material, and mixed it with Eu, through the comparison, the research prepared Y2O3-Eu by various methods.Firstly, this paper did some research about the effects of microwave radiation on Y2O3-Eu luminescent properties by using sol-gel method combined with microwave radiation. Through its phase analysis and spectral measurements, the study inspected such factors as the usefulness of different complex agents, preparation temperature, preparation time, and pH value on the luminescent properties of powder particles. Secondly, this paper made a study of the effects of microwave radiation on Y2O3-Eu luminescent properties by using precipitation combined with microwave radiation. Through the phase analysis and spectral measurements of it, the experiment searched such factors as the usefulness of different precipitating agents, preparation temperature, the usefulness of dispersants on the luminescent properties of powder particles, the third, this paper getted the optimal reaction conditions: an appropriate increase in temperature, reducing response time, ensuring a neutral pH value and so on.The experiment prepared Y2O3-Eu by hydrothermal method, and discussed the luminous efficiency of the products in different preparation conditions. Through comparison tests, it can be seen that, excellent luminous powder particles tends to form with shorter response time, lower reaction temperature. Spectral measurements show that the preparation method has an important influence on the light. The experiment also found that dispersing agent can reduce the percent of powder agglomeration and greatly improve the light intensity. Finally, in this paper, the study generated powder particles by using the combustion method, and discussed the effects of the amount and type of combustion agents on the luminescent properties of the product.
