In this paper, three Benzimidazole derivatives (1) C20H20N4,(2)C20H14N4·CH4O, (3) C27H18N6·H2O were firstly synthesized. Compound 3 consists of organic ligands and crystallization water molecules. Then eleven new metal-organic compounds, with formula (4) [Cd (4-PyBim)2(H2O)2(NO3)2], (5) [Co(4-PyBim)2(C5N2O2)2], (6) [Cd (H2bbim)-(bbim) 0.5 (C5N2O2)], (7) [Zn (H2bbim)·(bbim) 0.5 (C5N2O2)], (8) [Cd (H2bbim)(bbim)], (9) [Cd(H2MIA)2(H2O)2],(10) [Cd(C6H5N2O4)(C10H8N2)], (11) [Co(2,5-pydc) (H2O)2]H2O, (12) [Co3(MIA)2(4,4'-Bipy)3], (13) [Cd6(C12H12O4)4.5 (OH)3 (μ4-O)2 (H2O)], (14) [Co8(C12H12O4)6(H2O)9(OH)4]·12H2O have been hydrothermally and solvothermally synthesized and characterized by IR, elemental analysis, TG, solid-state emission spectra, magnetic properties and single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Compound 4 and compound 5 belongs to zero-dimensional metal-organic complexes,they have similar structures. Compound 6 and compound 7 are isostructure,they have the same ligands of H2bbim. Compound 8 is a one-dimensional zigzag chains. Compound 9-12 are connectied by the metal cations and the dicarboxylate derivatives units gives rise to 0D, 1D,2D, and 3D stuctures, respectively. Compound 13 and compound 14 are Polynuclear metal complexes. Compound 4 and compound stable below, respectively. Solid state luminescent spectroscopies of compound 8 exhibit an emission peak at 409nm. Compound 14 possess strongly antiferromagnetic.
