In this paper, we use large elevation angle and spontaneous fully-mechanized caving face of 065-2 from Gusan coal as research object. This work face's geological conditions have several characteristics which include the large elevation angle, fault, the more intrusive mass and the complex structure. In addition, many old fire zone around the work face and unknown fire zone of small coal mine make the work face easy to spontaneous combustion. For these cases, this paper gives a specific study. Firstly, we analyze characteristics of spontaneous combustion of the work face. After contrasting the numerical simulation and the actual measurement of oxygen and temperature in the work field, we part the scope of spontaneous combustion three zones, and obtain the smallest advance speed, reasonable parameters of nitrogen injection and air quantity of the work face in the case of normally exploiting. Secondly, based on the early forecast system which mainly monitors index gas of coal spontaneous combustion and temperature of coal, this paper study the outfire technology to control or put out the fire in the mine goaf and fire zone of small coal mine. There are a lot of outfire technology, such as nitrogen injection, resistivity foam injection, gel injection and so on. Finally, we achieve a successful control on the destructive area of small coal mine of 065-2 cave using integrated control technique. This success plays an important role in fire control and safe exploit of work face. The findings of this paper give some reference to the mine having similar condition.
