Aluminum foam have many advantages of structural features such as vibration damping, sound absorption, sound insulation, radiating, impact energy absorption, electromagnetic shielding that other materials unmatched. However, it is limited in many applications due to its low performance of mechanical strength. Although the strength of traditional metal higher than that of metal foam, but lower than the energy absorption properties of metal foam. Aluminum foam is not suitable to be used as a separate structure for energy-absorbing. It will be the most beneficial development that the two structures composed of composite structure if the use of their respective advantages, to make up deficiencies.Multiple structure of aluminum foam not only has the characteristics of aluminum foam itself, but also has characteristics of low densities and high strength. This structure has exceeded the traditional structure in aircraft manufacturing, mechanical engineering and many other fields and get more and more application. However, over the past few decades, the subject of many studies just involving of elasticity and viscoelastic areas, and research on the theory of sound insulation performance relatively few.Based on the above situation, this article made research on the sound transmission loss of multiple structure of aluminum foam and established it's mathematical model. Numerical simulation the mathematical model of the multiple structure of aluminum foam's transmission loss. Reasearch structure parameters of the multiple structure of aluminum foam which affect the sound transmission loss. Design a rational test method for multiple structure of aluminum foam and make a comparison between the experimental data and theoretical data. The result shows that, compared with the ordinary aluminum panel, the sound transmission loss of aluminum foam with composite structure has significant increase. The theory data and measurement data of the sound transmission loss are in good agreement for normal wave incidence. This theory can be used to predict the actual project.
