In this paper, four unreported polyoxometalate compounds have been synthesized in aqueous solution by utilizing B-type Anderson anions [M(OH)6Mo6O18]3-(M = Cr and Al ) and trivalent Rare earth cations Y3+,Yb3+ (RE= Y3+,Yb3+) and adjusting reaction conditions and reaction materials. The four compounds have been characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectra, TG analyses, and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The magnetic properties of 1, 3 and 4 have been examined by measuring their magnetic susceptibility over the temperature range of 2–300K. Magnetic research shows that compounds 3 and 4 have weak ferromagnetic interactions.[M(OH)6Mo6O18]3- anion acting as bi-dentate ligand coordinates to two RE3+, forming a double-supported cation [RE2(H2O)14M(OH)6Mo6O18]3+. The cations and [M(OH)6Mo6O18]3- anions in the crystals are linked together via hydrogen bonding interactions tightly, forming four supramolecular compounds. The chemical formula of the four compounds are: [Y2(H2O)14Cr(OH)6Mo6O18][Cr(OH)6Mo6O18]·14H2O (1)[Y2(H2O)14Al(OH)6Mo6O18][Al(OH)6Mo6O18]·14H2O (2)[Yb2(H2O)14Al(OH)6Mo6O18][Al(OH)6Mo6O18]·14H2O (3)[Yb2(H2O)14Cr(OH)6Mo6O18][Cr(OH)6Mo6O18]·14H2O (4)...
