Titanium resources are very rich in the crust and very broad distribution, almost all over the world. There are many kinds of titanium minerals, at present, titanium minerals which content TiO2 more than 1% are nearly 150 kinds. But with the current stage of the processing technology level, there are only a few minerals of the value in use, mainly rutile and ilmenite, followed by the leucoxene, anatase.China titanium reserves ranks the first in the world, but 95% of those is stored in the primary vanadium-titanium magnetite, which is mainly distributed in the Panzhihua-Xichang area.Follow by ilmenite pacer, is mainly distributed in Yunnan, Hainan, Guangdong and Guangxi areas. Titanium Resources of Yunnan Province are very broad distribution and very rich, easy to be exploit the characteristics. But now the most titanium mill plant in Yunnan province in the traditional "heavy-magnetic" joint of mineral processing flow, though the process process short, easy to operate, but choose don't effect is poor, TiO2 recovery only 40%, resources severe losses. Today's global titanium industry development is very fast and raw material supply increasingly nervous, reclaiming the this part of the tailings titanium resources to become the Yunnan province each titanium mill plant of the moment.In order to fulfill the country's international technical cooperation projects, meet the large-scale DC arc furnace smelting of raw material requirements. The experiments carried on the detailed dressing experiment research about tailings of Madougou titanium mill plant wich pertain to Yunnan Metallurgical Group, the purpose is to recycle the mill production of the tailings titanium resources. For the industrialization of recycling tailings titanium resources provide test basis, at the same time for many of the titanium mill plant in Yunnan province recycling of the tailings titaniferous resources to provide the reference, this paper have realistic significance.First carried on the experiment of gravity separation and magnetic separation to discarding tailings with the crude ore, finally chosed gravity separation. Then carried on the experiment of low intensity magnetic separation recovery iron ore.With the crude titanium concentrate's separation tests, magnetic separation tests, flotation tests and combined process flow tests have been carried out and the combined magnetic-gravity-magnetic process flow is adopted finally.Final processing process flow of this experimental research is a combination of gravity separation discarding tailings, low intensity magnetic separation recovery iron,and combination magnetic-gravity- magnetic process flow. This flow is not only dressing good in dressing effect,but also economical and environmental protection.Through the combination of gravity separation discarding tailings, low intensity magnetic separation recovery iron ore,and combination magnetic-gravity-magnetic process flow, this study obtained the final titanium concentrate of TiO2 48.07% and the recovery reached up to 70.62%.
