Titanium alloy was widely used in aerospace industry and other military equipment because of its excellent high specific strength and corrosion resistance. However, due to the impact of service environment and condition in load, the erosion wear and the corrosion-erosion wear of the titanium alloy is a prominent phenomenon. Along with the military equipment develops to the high efficiency and large power unceasingly, making an investigation on the erosion-corrosion resistance and its wear mechanism of titanium alloy has an important significance to improve the properties, service life and reliability of the titanium alloy parts in military equipment for engineering application.In this paper, TC4,TC8 and TC11 were selected as the research objects, which were carried on the erosion test, salt spray test, salt spray-erosion cycle test separately. the erosion test part in erosion and salt spray-erosion test of three kinds of materials was carried out at 30°and 90°roding angles with the solid particle air entrainment eroding testing equipment developed independently. According to the changing of material quality with the amount of quartz, the erosion resistance and salt spray-erosion resistance performance of three kinds titanium alloy were compared. Erosive mechanism and erosive products have been analyzed with SEM, EDS and XRD. Salt spray corrosion resistance of three kinds titanium alloy was compared through material weightlessness and XRD analysis results after the salt spray test.The result showed that only in the action of erosion, Erosive mechanism of three kinds of titanium alloy under 30°erosion angle was small-angle plowing erosion mechanism. Under 90°erosion angle, the erosive mechanism was pit type erosion accompanying by a small amount of plough cut erosion. Experimental result showed that the erosion resistance has no direct relation to the hardness of three kinds of titanium alloy. The erosion resistance of three kinds of titanium alloy was shown to be TC4>TC11>TC8.In the salt spray test, XRD test results showed that a thin passive film composed of titanium oxide was formed on the titanium alloy surface, which can strengthen the corrosion resistance of materials. Comprehensive salt spray test results, the salt spray corrosion resistance of three kinds of titanium alloy was shown to be TC4>TC8>TC11.In salt spray-erosion cycle test, the salt spray-erosion resistance performance of the three kinds of titanium alloy mainly was depended on erosion resistance. In 30°cycle test, the salt spray-erosion mechanism was small-angle plowing erosion mechanism. In 90°cycle test, the salt spray-erosion mechanism was pit type erosion accompanying by a small amount of plough cut erosion. The salt spray-erosion resistance mainly was depended on the difficulty of the micro crack formation.In conclusion, the salt spray-erosion resistance of three kinds of titanium alloy was shown to be TC4>TC11>TC8.
