The behavior of phosphorus sorption and desorption in Western Liao river by using indoor static adsorption and desorption experimental method in the paper. The sampling points of West Liao River arranges in old Ha and XLML river. Haila Su and Yutiangao which is the background section. And the others is kaiba line, Tongliao, Great Forest Town, Shuangliao, Sanyan jing section.Sorption experimental study found that the behavior of phosphorus sorption in Western Liao river accords with Langmuir sorption isothermal type and Freundlich sorption isothermal type. sorption experimental results indicate that, the phosphorus maximum amount ofΓm value of sorption in sediment between 37.95~282.16 mg/kg, the average is 120.68mg/kg.The maximum adsorption quantity is the Sanyan jing section, the minimum adsorption quantity is the kaiba line cross-section.Desorption experimental results indicate that, the behavior of phosphorus desorption in Western Liao river conforms to Langmuir desorption isothermal type and Freundlich desorption isothermal type. the phosphorus maximum amount of Dm value of desorption in sediment between 34.16~169.29mg/kg. the average is 83.32 mg/kg. Dr value of desorption in sediment between 0.6~0.9. the average is 0.73. The smallest desorption ratio is the Sanyan jing section, The highest desorption ratio is the kaiba line.
