We studied the behavior of ammonia nitrogen adsorption and desorption in sediment in Western Liao river by using indoor static adsorption and desorption experimental method. The experimental result shows that the behavior of ammonia nitrogen adsorption and desorption in sediment in Western Liao river accords with Langmuir adsorption and desorption isothermal and Freundlich adsorption and desorption isothermal.Adsorption test results: The ammonia nitrogen maximum amount ofΓm value of adsorption in sediment between 344.83~909.10mg/kg, the average is 564.72mg/kg. Saturated adsorption in sediment and organic content are significant positively correlated, the saturated adsorption in sediment and sediment particles (mainly in powder and viscous grain part) are very significant positively correlated. The organic matter content is more high and the fine sediment particles, the greater the adsorption quantity of saturation. The maximum organic content is YuTian gao section, so this section has the biggest adsorption quantity. The minimum organic content is ShuangLiao section, so its adsorption quantity is the smallest.Desorption test results: The ammonia nitrogen maximum amount of Dm value of desorption in sediment between 270.27~714.29mg/kg. Desorption ratio Dr value between 77.27%~94.44%, the average is 81.67%. The largest k value is the HaiLa Su section, and its desorption ratio is the smallest, explained that the ammonia nitrogen in HaiLa Su section is the most difficult to desorption. The smallest k value is the DaLin Town section, and its desorption ratio is the biggest, the ammonia nitrogen in sediment in this section is the easiest upward coated water release. The ammonia nitrogen Dr ratio in sediment and organic content and sediment particle size (mainly in powder and viscous grain part) show a significant negative correlation. The small the particle size is and the higher the organic matter content, the small Dr ratio in sediment is.
