Research Of Modification And Property Of Starch

Synthetic plastic was used widely and that it made people's life more convenience. But the plastic abandoning had brought about large damage for environment. As a kind of natural polymer,starch is very cheap, non-toxic,harmless,and completely biodegradable. Starch can be produced circularly. The thermoplastic starch is the best product to replace synthetic plastics.This project by using starch as the base material,made starch physical blending modification by use LDPE and EVA,used starch and glycerol blending extrusion to make starch plasticizing modification,used acrylic acid,methyl methacrylate to make grafting starch and used maleic anhydride to make esterifing starch.And made sure the better modification conditions,made modification starch to take mechanical properties tests.From the test we could know that,the starch which taked chemical modification,and made the chemical modification starch by thermoplastic process,the mechanical properties of chemical modification starch by thermoplastic process was better than physical blending modification starch and plasticizing modification starch.
