This paper conducts lossless semi‐quantitative detection of textile cloth samples by using the X‐fluorescence energy spectrometer. This study indicates that during detection, the thickness of textile cloth sample stays at a level of more than the thickness of two pieces of cloth, and the detection time is 100S. At this time period, the detection result is the best. This paper makes some relative explorations of standardized curve linearity, the accuracy and repeatability of data coming from the X‐fluorescence energy spectrometer detection results. The specific experimental data proves that standardized curve linearity of the X‐fluorescence energy spectrometer detection data is good, so are the accuracy and repeatability of data, which make it qualified enough to conduct rapid initial sifting semi‐quantitative detection of heavy metals in textiles.Meanwhile, this paper performs monitoring of the content of heavy metals in the textile industry by using the X‐fluorescence energy spectrometer, a rapid initial sifting method. The research findings include:1)There are potential antimony metal elements left in polyester fiber, which should be given substantial attention.2)Currently, a small number of heavy metal chromium and copper are found in a small number of animals and plants fibers growing naturally. This indicates that heavy metals left in animals and plants fiber in the process of natural growth are of a quite small number, which is not enough to pose a threat to ecological environment and people's health. However, with increasingly pollution to the environment, the monitoring and early warning to heavy metals which are centralized on animal and plant fibers should be strengthened.3)Plastic bottles in the market contain antimony, its content is about several hundreds milligram per kilogram. Clothes made by recycling plastic bottles also contain antimony.Developing recycling economy in the textile industry is beneficial for both energy saving and environmental protection. It is also not ignorable to do a better job in removing harmful substances and monitoring and early warning in recycling stage.
