Wenxi county is China's important industrial base of magnesium, relatively concentrated area to a large-scale magnesium production in this place, and its magnesium smelting technology is the traditional magnesium Pidgeon process, Pidgeon production is able to cause environmental pollution because of emissions of dust and slag. However, industrial activities, especially for magnesium smelting process, research on magnesium environmental pollution of soil is not more attention. The pollution of soil magnesium is not enough emphasis; most data are studied on magnesium in the natural soil environment. The soil environmental quality standards on magnesium has not yet formulated and Issued in China. Based on this background, the study concentrated on samplings in the magnesium industry regional distribution in Wenxi county, selected old and new areas of relatively industrial concentration of magnesium production, in 15 sampling points and in 0-20cm depth, contents of the heavy metals, Chromium and lead of a total soil samplings of 55 was analyzed; and Mg, Ca and organic matter content data of plow-layer 0-20cm soil in the region were collected and statistically analyzed to study on the spatial distribution features of Mg, Cr and Pb content and the relationship between Mg and Ca, Mg content and organic matter content in Wenxi county. Therefore, the paper has a help and reference to future research for land management, soil pollution prevention, and contaminated soil repair and industry layout.By analyzing and processing data, the results show:In 0-20cm topsoil:Mg average content (16.65mg/kg) is higher than that of the control points (8.50mg/kg); Pb average content (23.36mg/kg)is greater than A level soil background value (14.9mg/kg) in Shanxi Province; Cr average content (42.92mg/kg)is less than the background value (58.3mg/kg). Cr single-factor pollution index value (Pi=0.74) is less than 1; Pb single-factor pollution index value (Pi=1.57)is greater than 1, but less than 2, with light pollution. Therefore, in the study area, Pb content may be affected by the industrial production of magnesium in 0-20cm topsoil; Cr content has not been obvious influence. The results shows, from the spatial distribution of Mg, Cr and Pb in the regional topsoil, these elements contents are higher in old magnesium production areas than in new magnesium production areas. In 0-20cm topsoil to study areas, the general law for Mg, Cr and Pb content changes is, the closer magnesium plant, the more obvious influence; the longer magnesium production time, the more obvious influence. In the old magnesium industrial areas, in 0-20cm top-soil excessive accumulation of soluble magnesium can cause a higher soil alkaline, and soil microbial activity and soil environment are destroyed, and the supply capacity of organic matter and Ca is decreased. The change trends between Ca content and organic matter content with Mg content are negatively correlated. Increasing Mg content, Ca content and organic matter content are decreased. In the new industrial area, that is, the initial contamination, Ca content, organic matter content and Mg content were positively correlated. With the timing and extent of magnesium dust pollution extended and deepened, the top-soil occur alkalization, soil microbial ecology is damaged. Magnesium industrial production on soil pollution may destroy elements migration, variation and its enrichment laws of Ca,Mg elements and organic matter, the supply capacity of Ca and organic matter in soil may decline.Magnesium dust and slag discharged by industrial production activities, whether Cr and Pb heavy metals element contents or Mg, Ca and organic matter contents in soil, its impacts and damages have been fleshed out. The paper suggested that the relevant departments and enterprises timely to take measures and concern to environmental pollution, especially soil environmental pollution and destruction with magnesium industrial production.
