This article describes the application and research of tert-butyl benzene. Tert-butyl benzene is an important fine chemical intermediates which is widely used in fine chemical products and synthesis intermediates. It was used to synthesize many products, such as medicine, spices and pesticides. It was also used to synthesize spices, pesticides, anti-histamine drugs and other substances. Besides, the tent-butyl benzene can also be used as a polymerization solvent and chromatographic analysis of standard materials crosslinker. In China, the amount of tert-butyl benzene is limited, and it is far from meeting the domestic demand because of the small-scale productiona. Meanwhile, there are less relevant literature reported with the production and synthesis conditions of tert-butyl benzene, which is foreign and domestic. Therefore, it can be instructive and meaningful to the development and production of tert-butyl benzene.In view of concentrated sulfuric acid can also act as a catalyst for alkylation, but the catalytic system have not been reported. In view of [Et3NH][Al2Cl7] ionic liquid can act as catalyst is reported in many literatures, it has highly efficient performance to catalyze benzene and olefins in the alkylation, but there is not one literature reported that whether such ionic liquid can catalyze benzene and tert-butyl alcohol, the reaction system forms water.Therefore, this paper can be devided into the following two parts:The first part of this experiment concentrated sulfuric acid was used as catalyst, benzene, and tert-butyl alcohol synthesized tert-butyl benzene. The optimized reaction conditions were determined through orthogonal law, the products were characterized by IR,'HNMR nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, the content of each product were analysized by gas chromatography. Spectral data showed that this product is tert-butyl benzene.The second part of the experiment [Et3HN][Al2Cl7]/AlCl3 was used as a catalyst, benzene, and tert-butyl alcohol synthesized tert-butyl benzene. We studied the influence of AlCl3 mole fraction, producing water, reaction time and so on in the alkylation reaction. The products were characterized by IR,1HNMR nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, the content of each product were analysized by gas chromatography. Experimental results show that, [Et3HN][Al2Cl7]/AlCl3 is a kind of good catalyst for alkylation of benzene, and its activity depends on the anion of [Al2Cl7]-, [Et3HN][Al2Cl7]/AlCl3 can replace Lewis acids (AlCl3), proton acids (sulfuric acid) and other acid catalysts for alkylation.
