Cyclohexanediamine O Synthesis, Structure And Performance Of The The Vanillin Single Lanthanide Complexes

In this paper, reactions of Schiff base ligand 6,6′-dimethoxy-2,2′- [(cyclohexane-1,2-diyl)bis(nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenol (H₂L) with rare-earth salts under diffusing conditions yielded sixteen new coordination complexes: [Nd(H₂L)₂MeOH](PF₆)₃·H₂O·2CH₂Cl₂ (1), [Ce(H₂L)₂MeOH](PF₆)₃·CH₂Cl₂ (2), [Sm(H₂L)₂H₂O](PF₆)₃·MeOH·2CH₂Cl₂ (3), [Yb(H₂L)₂MeOH](PF₆)₃·H₂O·2CH₂Cl₂ (4), [Sm(H₂L)₂MeOH](PF₆)₃·CH₂Cl₂ (5) and [Sm(H₂L)₂MeOH](PF₆)₃·2CH₂Cl₂ (6). The complexes [(CuClL)LaCl₂(CH₃OH)₃]·H₂O (7) [(CuClL)SmCl₂(CH₃OH)₂] (8) [(CuClL)GdCl₂(CH₃OH)₂] (9) and [(CuClL)DyCl₂(CH₃OH)₂] (10); four 3d–4f heterodinuclear Cu–Ln dinuclear single molecular structure complexes: [(CuClL)LaCl₂(CH₃OH)₃]·H₂O (7), [(CuClL)SmCl₂(CH₃OH)₂] (8), [(CuClL)GdCl₂(CH₃OH)₂] (9) and [(CuClL)DyCl₂(CH₃OH)₂] (10); two heterotrinuclear complexes: [(LCuCl)₂GdCl] (11),[Zn2(H₂L)₂SmCl₂]·(PF₆) (12) and one trinuclear complexe: [Yb₃L₃(OH)₃Cl(H₂O)4]2Cl·2H₂O (13); four tetranuclear complexes: {[Yb₄L₄(NO₃)₂(H₂O)₂]·[Yb(NO₃)₃(H₂O)₂(MeOH)]0.5·2CH₂Cl₂·H₂O}(NO₃)₂ (14), {[Sm₄L₄(OAc)₂(H₂O)₂]·2H₂O}(PF₆)₂ (15) and {[Yb₄L₄Cl₂(H₂O)₂]·H₂O}(PF₆)₂ (16). Single crystal X-ray crysrallographic analysis are carried out for these complexes and IR, UV, TG-DSC measurements were employed as well to confirm their strutures. Complexes 3, 5, 6 and 12 had fluorescence property, Complexes 1, 4, 14 and 16 showed typical NIR emissions at room temperature. The fluorescence and NIR properties of the complexes were investigated in various solvents. Magnetic property of 9 has been studied and it revealed a ferromagnetic behavior depending on Cu···Gd.
