Studies On Scarf Pattern Design Based On Quasi-regular Pattern

Scarf is an important category in clothing accessories. Nowadays, people, especially women, pay more attention on the collocation between the clothing and the accessories. With the development of society, there are more and more products of clothing accessories. The market is full of competition and opportunity. As a fabric designer how to open our minds and develop new resources in the circumstances is becoming an urgent problem. This thesis is a preliminary study on the scarf pattern design which is based on quasi-regular pattern, with the intent of considering the quasi-regular pattern as a new resource in scarf pattern design. On the one hand, it can provide the new inspirations in pattern design. On the other hand, it can help us find a new way to apply quasi-regular pattern in fabric design.First, the thesis described the origin and development of scarves, from the basic form, composition, color and constitution, four aspects to summarize the features of scarves. Then, the thesis introduced the formation principle and changing methods of quasi-regular pattern. On this basis, by designing four series of scarves, the thesis describes the specific process of design which is based on quasi-regular pattern.The emphasis of this paper is to design different series of scarves, according to different sources of inspiration, which is based on quasi-regular pattern. Through the designing practice, it proves the scarf pattern design based on quasi-regular pattern is completely feasible. The products fit the public's aesthetic.
