The electronic structure of tombarthite is very unique and gives stimulated radiation glow in different stimulated mode. Tombarthite has the strong energy transforming ability and absorption capability and the range of its shine is from ultraviolet rays and infrared rays and especially in the visible area, the ability of launching will be very strong, so the shine of tombarthite is the focus of the luminescent material all the time.This paper illustrates the basic characteristic and the luminous principle and method of preparation of the nano tombarthite luminescence materials, and at the same time presents the research of development about this kind of material. In this paper, using the raw material of Y, Eu, Gd nitrate and 2HPO4 (NH4) to get the synthesis precursor body under the normal temperature, then PO4 nano phosphor is produced with the method of 900℃conditions calcining 2h. Later analyzes the forming process, of phosphor size, morphology and crystal shine through XRD, FTIR TEM and solid fluorescence.Through the samples of XRD, we can find should powder has strong diffraction peak with a good crystalling phase, comparing through the standard crystalling phase diffraction PDF32-0493 contrast card of the preparation of nanometer phosphors, the structure is the single inclined phosphate crystal, monazite structure. The sample is found to have strong absorption peaks PO4, and proved the photoluminescence peak in the 297nm is PO43 by7π-π*. In 396 nm ultraviolet light conditions, red fluorescent with Eu3+features is also found, and its main peak is 613nm, belongs to the Eu3+ions 5D0-7F2 warp, while in 590nm place there is another photoluminescence peak, for photoluminescence peak, it is classified as 5D0 to the Eu3 plus the 7F1 magnetic dipole and warp in this paper, due to the environment by the coordination and split, an orange fluorescence is shown.At present, main application of tombarthite is in energy-saving lamps use, display panels and special light source, with the development of technology, Tombarthite will have more broad development space.
