Rare-earth doped phosphors have been widely applied in lighting, display and many other fields. Phosphate compounds have been considered as efficient luminescent hosts due to its stable chemical properties and excellent luminescence properties. Rare-earth doped phosphate phosphors have represented excellent application value in fluorescent lamp and LED areas. In this paper, the rare earths (Ce3+, Tb3+, Eu3+, Eu2+) doped phosphate phosphors were synthesized by high temperature solid method. The crystal structure, fluorescent properties and energy transfer process were investigated. The main studies and results are listed as follow:?1? A series of Ce3+, Tb3+and Eu3+doped Na3Y2?PO4?3 phosphors were prepared by solid-state method. The structure and optical properties were investigated by X-ray diffraction and photoluminescence spectra. The energy transfer process was also investigated. By introducing the intermediate ion Tb3+, the energy transfer process from Ce3+to Eu3+could be achieved. The phosphor-converted phosphate phosphors were prepared, which could be excited under UV light.?2? A series of Ba2Mg?PO4?2:Ce3+,Tb3+,Mn2+phosphors have been synthesized by solid state reaction. The structure and optical properties were investigated by X-ray diffraction and photoluminescence spectra. Energy transfer from Ce3+to Tb3+and Ce3+to Mn2+in Ba2Mg?PO4?2 host was studied by luminescence spectra, energy transfer efficiency and lifetimes. The phosphors can generate light from blue to green/red, eventually obtaining a wide-range-tunable white light emission by precisely controlling the contents of Ce3+, Tb3+, Mn+in phosphors. Eventually, single-phase white-emitting phosphate phosphors were prepared and the chromaticity coordinates are located in ?0.26,0.24?.?3? A series of single-phase full-color emitting ?Ca,Sr,Ba?9MgNa?PO4?7:Eu2+,Mn2+ phosphors were synthesized by solid state reaction. Their emission colors may be tuned from purple-blue to green through tuning the composition of phosphor. In addition, the spectral composition of Ca9MgNa?PO4?7:0.005Eu2+,0.1Mn2+phosphors were studied by Gaussian deconvolution.
