In recent years, the security of cosmetics became the new hotspots that attract public's attention. It was arose the new challenge of supervising on security and sanitation of cosmetics as well as the later administration that many international and famous brands were in the news they contained harmful elements. If the raw materials in cosmetics contained harmful elements, they would endanger body's healthiness. ICP-MS as a new technology that's strong suit nicety and speediness, likewise more sensitivity and less molestation of mass than the other methods. It was used widely in content analysis of materials and samples in life sciences.An analysis method is researched and founded based on the determination of harmful elements in cosmetics by ICP-MS with octopole collision/reaction system, and then the method is validated. It is valid to inspect and supervise the harmful chemical elements in Hygienic Standard for Cosmetics via the samples' disposal once. There are excellences of high flux and sensitivity likewise celerity and convenience. It is beneficial to safeguard the consumers in good condition and accelerate imports and exports commerce.The present paper divides into four parts:1,The article introduces the progress and sorts of cosmetics; while summarizes the basic definitions; the harmful elements for Be, B, Al, Ti, Cr, Zn, As, Se, Ag, Cd, Sn, Sb, I, Nd, Hg, Tl and Pb in cosmetics and the jeopardy of them, and so on;2,The analysis method researches on determining 17 kinds of chemical elements which are enjoined and limited from using in cosmetic by ICP-MS;(1) The conditions is studied that samples are digested by microwave digestion system. This paper has tested the parameters about the temperature, the pressure and resolution time for the different cosmetics microwave resolution; also has analysis the result in influence of the different sour medium;(2) The working conditions have been optimized; the best working conditions are chosen and the matrix effect interferences are eliminated by selecting the isotopes without interference;(3) The complication of disturbance has been studied; according to the theory of kinetic energy discrimination (KED), the interference of polyatomic ion in cosmetics is eliminated effectively by selecting the helium gas as collision/reaction gas; the influence of collision gas velocity has been studied to detection background and elements' sensitivity. The background equivalent concentrations (BEC) of most elements greatly are reduced by selecting the best helium gas velocity. The mass spectrometry interference is eliminated more effectively than the traditional equation of interference;(4) An analysis method is founded by ICP-MS with ORS based on the determination of 17 harmful elements in chemistry;3. The cream cosmetics have been detected, while the statistical data is validated in inner laboratory and among laboratories;(1) The pretreatment method that ultrasonic assistant emulsion before microwave digestion is chosen for obtaining the O/W solutions; since that the solutions of samples are determined directly with ICP-ORS-MS; this method is simple and rapid, while it is a high precision, accuracy detection method;(2) The detection limit and the precision and add recovery of the method are experimented in laboratory and laboratories to insuring the accuracy;(3) An analysis method is founded by ICP-MS with ORS based on the determination of forbidden/limited elements in cream cosmetics;4,Result and discussion.
