Propylene and its derivatives, which are basic organic chemical raw materials of the three biggest synthetic materials, maintained a strong growth in demand. Naphtha which is steam cracking feedstock is limited by the poor quality of crude oil, thereby affecting the output of propylene increase. While the other alternative technologies are also affected by various factors, which make it difficult to carry out large-scale production. As a result, the catalytic cracking unit with a wider source of raw materials and lower operating costs can play an active role in the production of propylene.After the investigation on the catalytic cracking equipment, we selected the use of additives in the conventional catalytic cracking equipment to improve the yield of propylene according to the actual situation of the whole plant and catalytic cracking equipment;we evaluate the efficiency of propylene additives by experimental and mid-scale pilot test to screen an efficient additive for industrial test. The results showed that:propylene yield increased by 17.5% when the assistant for more propylene that added in catalysts is 4m%.On the basis of a large number of industrial application data, we summarized he law of the use of propylene additives. The higher activity of the additive, the stronger the ability in improving propylene output; The higher concentration of additives in catalyst, the higher propylene yield, but the yield of propylene will decline when the concentration of the up to a certain extent; the capacity of the additive in increasing the yield is different when used in the different catalyst;the naphtha recycle facilitate the yield increasing; the smaller density of materials, the higher yield of propylene; The higher reaction temperature, the higher yield of propylene.If the the assistant for more propylene was used in general FCC unit, there are no special requirements on raw materials, catalysts and operating; it is flexible and unnecessary to transform the device. Furthermore, it does not affect the production quality, and the effectiveness of the device increased significantly. As a result, the gross profit will increase over 10%, and input and output ratio will be over 8.
