In this paper, based on the small size experiment device of single pipe cooling, with methanol synthesis catalyst C306 as padding and air as medium, through the research of the cross-flow heat transfer in the fixed bed with the bed layer being cooled by gas, we obtained the temperature field of the cross-flow in the fixed bed, and also analyzed the temperature distribution regularity in the fixed bed. Through the optimization method, under the given precision requirement, we find the temperature distribution which is nearest to the temperature distribution measured by experiment and also the most ideal theory bed temperature distribution. Meanwhile, we get the value of the wall heat transfer coefficient hw and the bed effective coefficientλb in the real fixed bed with cross-flow heat transfer.The study found that the isotherm of the cooling cross-flow in the fixed bed is elliptic curve with the gas flow direction for the long axis; heat transfer occurs along the direction of gas flow, and against the direction of gas flow heat transfer almost don't happen; during the cooling cross-flow heat transfer in the fixed bed. he wall heat transfer coefficient hw and the bed effective coefficientλb increases with the Rep of the gas and also with the gas inlet temperature. At the same time, in this paper we obtained the cooling cross-flow heat transfer relational expression in the C306 catalyst padding layer, with the conditions Tin=200~300℃, Rep=400~1100.
