Industrial boilers are currently the major energy power plant in China, as China's rapid economic development, increasing energy consumption, a deteriorating urban air quality issues become more prominent. In terms of thermal power, boiler flue gas emission is one of main reasons why boiler is of high energy consumption and of high pollution. Boiler flue gas pollutants in exhaust problem on the one hand is the direct pollution, on the other hand is the high exhaust gas temperature. And if you would directly reduce the exhaust gas temperature, the gas and the working fluid temperature difference in the flue gas boiler heating surface of the tail will decrease, heat transfer area and the metal consumption and equipment investment will increase. And too low flue gas temperature can also cause the condensation of sulfuric acid vapor and the Low Temperature Corrosion Fouling. But the exhaust gas temperature is too high, a large number of combustion flue gas will take considerable heat away, causing a tremendous waste of energy. For this reason, using of the waste heat of the exhaust gas and combustion air preheat to reduce combustion of gas, in particular the reduction of heat consumption of coke oven gas are attaching increasing attention.This paper studies the application of separation type heat pipe exchanger in blast furnace gas boiler heat recovery. First for the theoretical basis of the separation type heat pipe exchanger design and engineering applications, the separation type heat pipe exchanger design process was established, including:thermodynamic calculation steps, resistance calculation, heat flux check and structural design.Then combined with the design calculation process above, further research was done on the engineering applications of the separation type heat pipe exchanger. At the same time, the analysis specific measures were put forward and to resolve the difficulties affecting the design. The energy efficiency and technical economy analyse of the separation type heat pipe exchanger designed were analyzed, and on energy and economy perspective, demonstrate the technical feasibility of the application of separation type heat pipe exchanger in blast furnace gas boiler heat recovery.Finally the advantages and disadvantages of applications of separation type heat pipe exchanger in the specific engineering projects in using waste heat recovery was studied. The analysis on advantages and disadvantages of the separation type heat pipe exchanger in practical applications provide the basis for the design work and guidance.
