As we all know, establish the accurate dynamic model of machine tools is very important for designing high grade CNC machine tools, and there are lots of fixed joints in the machine tool, so study on how to build the precise dynamic model of fixed joints is also very important. In this paper, the tangential dynamic characteristics of fixed joints are investigated based on a lot of experiments.Levy method was improved and created an program by MATLAB so that the dynamic characteristics parameters of fixed joints can be obtained precisely. Studied on the authentication method of the parameters, showed that we must reasonable choose the number of stiffness-damping elements and distributed the elements in the fixed joints by average when authentication the parameters, otherwise it may caused a larger error result.With a set of testing data, the tangential dynamic characteristics of fixed joints base on areas and structure and load was studied, pointed out the "Area ratio-dynamic stiffness" hypothesis and the shortcomings of Yoshimura model. Analysis of the dynamic stiffness characteristics curve and its effect law by load and dynamic stiffness, and the reasons for producing the tangential dynamic stiffness were discussed.Deal with the test data by MATLAB, a mathematical model of tangential dynamic stiffness on areas and load was presented, showed the application method of the dynamic characteristics parameters by "Yingxiangzhui theory". Finally, put the test data into the finite element calculation by ANSYS, and combined with the experimental result, showed the effectiveness of the test data and the accuracy of analysis method.
