In this paper, flower-likeβ-Ni(OH)2 microstructure, hexagon-likeβ-Ni(OH)2 nanoflakes and sphere-shaped ZnO microstructures were successfully prepared through a facile hydrothermal approach. The influence of various experimental parameter on the morphologies has been investigated. The structures and morphologies of the samples were characterized by SEM, XRD, CV and PL. The growth mechanism were also studied. The results and conclusions are as followed:1.flower-likeβ-Ni(OH)2 were prepared by rection of NiSO4·6H2O) and hexamethylenetetramine(HMT) through a hydrothermal method at 170℃in the presence of assitant. The morphologies and the structures were characterized by SEM. It has been found that the product consist of a large quantity of flower-like microparticles of 8.5μm in length, which were assembled by many interleaving nanosheets. The electrochemical property of the samples was obtained through cyclic voltammetry method. The morphologies of theβ-Ni(OH)2 microstructure can be turned when different surfactants were used.2.β-Ni(OH)2 nanoflakes were synthesized by rection of NiSO4·6H2O and NaOH via a hydrothermal process with a variety of additive at 170℃. The SEM observation results displayed that the samples were uniform in size.3.ZnO microspheres has been successfully synthesized in ethanol-AMP-95 mixed solvent via a facile solvothermal process with AMP-95 surfactants at 170℃for 6h. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observation showed that the products were consisted of a large quantity of nearly monodisperse microspheres of 1μm in diameter. The microspheres were constructed with ZnO nanoparticles and had a rough surface. The photoluminescence of the ZnO microstructures has been investigated and it has found that the ZnO sample has been showing multiple peaks of visible emissions in bluegreen region.
