Organosilicon compounds have its unique structure and excellent performance, so they are widely used in various fields. That means the silicone industry occupies an important position in industrial production and plays an irreplaceable role in industrial development in China. The production capacity of organic silicon monomers is an important factor for evaluation of national silicone industrial level, therefore, the synthesis of organic silicon monomers is a necessary factor in China's industrial development. Methylchlorosilane is an important kind of organic silicon monomers, and dimethylchlorosilane is more expensive and wider application, but it is difficult to prepare. The research of dimethylchlorosilane's preparation methods has great practical significance to silicon industrial development in China.In this paper, the monomer of dimethylchlorosilane is the research object, its previous synthesis methods have been studied and analyzed systematically, and then a four-step reduction method of dimethylchlorosilane is used which dimethyldichlorosilane is raw material. The process is that diethylamino as protecting groups are bring in, then after a reductive hydrogenation reaction the protecting groups are taken off to get the final product. What is more, considering the mass production of the feasibility and cost-benefit point of view the method is optimized that three-step method can replace the four-step one, and then methyldichlorosilane directly as a hydrogen donor is used to get dimethylchlorosilane that means a two-step synthesis method is effective, that can greatly increase the safety of the experiment and reduce the synthesis cost. In addition, intermediate products and final products were characterized using IR and GC-MS to prove that the designed method is feasible and mechanism were analyzed according to the results of the reaction.
