As the merit of cheap, abundant resource and high-strength Jute fiber contains and the full biodegradability contained by PLA resin, the jute reinforced PLA composite can fullfilled both the requirement of property-improving and enviornment protection. In this thesis, properties of the jute fiber reinforced composite affected by contents, length and pre-surface treatment of jute fiber are studied on the samples prepared by dissolved hot pressing method.Fisrt of all, the result of structure and properties of Jute fiber and PLA resin analysis shows that raw jute fiber interior contains a lot of hydrophilic groups, fiber moisture content as high as 14.5%, the tensile strength of jute fiber 390MPa, the thermal decomposition of jute fibers temperature is 250℃;Second, the hot-pressing conditions of the composite molding, hot-pressing temperature, stress and time, are tested using the orthogonal experiment. And result turn to be the optimal hot-pressing conditions are:170℃,20Mpa,15min.Then, the mechanical properties of the composite affected by different length and content of jute fibers in the composite were tested. And the results show that the optimum mechanical properties came when the jute fiber length is 5mm and jute fiber content is 40%.The tensile strength and flexural strength are 58.2Mpa and 78.9Mpa.Then, the effect on the properties of the composite caused by the three pre-surface treatment methods, alkali treatment, esterification process and coupling treatment, are tested. The results turn to be the treatment with KH-550 affect the tensile strength significantly. The maximum is 73.3Mpa while the KH-550 concentration is 2%. And NaOH treament affect the flexural strength most. The maximum of flexuarl strength of the composite is 102.6Mpa when NaOH concentration is up to 5%.At last, the degradability of jute fiber reinforced PLA composites was tested under different preparation conditions. The degradability analysis shows the weight loss and degradation rate of NaOH treated composites is significantly greater than the esterification and coupling treated jute fiber reinforced PLA composites. The maximum weight loss rate is 37.31% after 80 days of degradation.
