With the continuous consumption of earth resources and the increasing environmental pollution,people's demand for environmental protection materials is more and more urgent.Jute fiber composite has the advantages of green degradation,wide sources of materials,low manufacturing cost,etc.,which makes it widely used in the automotive industry and the field of building decoration.Although the dimensional accuracy of composite products can be well controlled during preparation and molding,it still needs to be further modified and improved by subsequent machining to meet the use requirements.Due to the anisotropy of the properties of jute fiber composite and the low heat resistance of jute fiber,it is easy to have processing defects such as burr and surface fiber burn during the edge cutting.These processing damages seriously affect the dimensional accuracy and surface beauty of the products,and the mechanical properties and service life of the materials will be seriously affected.In view of various damage problems in the machining of jute fiber composite materials,this paper takes jute fiber reinforced vinyl ester resin composite materials as the research object,from the perspective of material removal and temperature generation,explores the cutting force and cutting temperature in the cutting process,and makes a quantitative evaluation on the surface quality.On this basis,the influence of cutting mode and cutting parameters on the surface quality is studied,and cold air is used to cool the cutting process,which effectively improves the surface quality.The main work and achievements of this paper are as follows:(1)This paper analyzes and summarizes the damage caused by jute fiber composite cutting,explores the influence of fiber axis and cutting tool angle on material removal and temperature in cutting process,and carries out the cutting edge experiment of unidirectional jute fiber composite.It is found that the cutting force and temperature are relatively small when the cutting angle between the fiber axis and the cutter is 0 ° and 90 ° respectively,which lays a foundation for the selection of the processing mode of the jute fiber composite with subsequent braided structure.(2)According to the different cutting directions of fiber and cutter,the paper classifies and defines the cutting methods of jute fiber composite material with braided structure,analyzes the cutting process from macro and micro perspectives,and explores the influence of cutting methods and parameters on cutting force and cutting temperature through experiments.(3)Compared and observed the machined surface with different square cutting methods,and reasonably characterized and quantified the burr damage and fiber burn of the machined surface with pixel method and gray calculation method.The influence of cutting mode and parameters on the surface damage is explored through experiments.On this basis,the optimal processing parameters are selected.And combined with the cold air cooling processing technology,the burr damage and fiber burn d amage on the surface are effectively improved,and the surface quality is improved.
