Landscape water is not only a constitution of scenic spots in cities but also plays an important role in climatic regulation, water purification and biological diversity maintenance. However, with the increasing influence of human activities, including water and air pollution, less awareness of environment protection, eutrophication of landscape water has become more and more common in cities. Located in the northern part of Jiao zhou Bay, Qingdao High-tech Industrial Development Zone is being built to be a Zone full of mechanical industrial innovation and high-tech eco-industrial parks. The water environment of the park areas has an important impact on the image of the Zone. In order to find out the causes of eutrophication of the Zone water and assess the water quality, the study chose four sampling sites and the sampling lasted from April 2010 to October 2010. In the middle ten days of each month, in the studied area water and phytoplankton were sampled; observation and analysis were carried out on such physical and chemical indicators as water transparency of the main body (SD), water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), potassium permanganate index (CODMn), total phosphorus (TP), total nitrogen (TN) and chlorophyll a (Chla) content; phytoplankton in the water was classified; finally eutrophication of water bodies were evaluated based on the nutrition state index. The results show that phytoplankton in the studied area was dominantly composed of Cyanophyta, Bacillariophyta and Chlorophyta among which Cyanophyta was the most dominant one. The nutritional status of the water was greatly influenced by location, water temperature, total phosphorus versus total nitrogen etc. All four sampled areas displayed eutrophication to some extent, among which the sampling site 2 had the highest index of eutrophication, up to 60.05.
