Refining process of separating isobutanol from the system of methylacrolein hydrogenation was used as the research background in this paper. UNIQUAC-RK property calculation method was applied in the simulate process. The rectifying process flow was determined by the residue graph in Aspen plus software. The rectifying tower of separating isobutanol was adopted as the model of the rectifying simulation. Based on the scheme, the experiment results were obtained, and the simulation data fits well with the experimental data, proving the reliablity of the model. Sensitivity analysis tool was applied to optimize the operation parameters of the rectifying unit to get the better result. High efficency packing and proper tower internals were adopted in the design of the rectifying unit. Experimental data and theoretical analysis can yield the design of the separation of isobutanol synthesized by methylacrolein hydrogenation.
