Recently the rapid development of the natural gas industry has brought a series of environmental problems. The construction of gas field can bring about the land occupation, destruction of original vegetation, and a large number of secondary bare lands, which leads to serious soil erosion and breaks the ecological balance of the area. This paper studies on a gas field development in northeastern Si Chuan, based on the existing on-site data analysis, the surfaces destroyed by the gas field development in the region are mainly distributed in the purification plant, gathering station area. The representative plants can be identified by analyzing the important value of the phytobiocenose in the region. Generally there are two type of the destroyed surfaces in the region, one is the covered slope (as spoil ground), the other one is the disturbance slope. The later type can be sorted into three types by the disturbance rock mass properties:soil slopes, rock slopes and deposit slopes. The level of the eco-environmental evaluation of the slopes is very low, and the score is only2.9. The ecological restoration measures are needed.Based on the classification results, the ecological restoration is proposed. For the disturbance type, the overall plans of the ecological restoration are separately proposed to the soil, rock and deposit slopes. Different ecological recovery technology is applied to different sorts of the side slope, which is based on the steady state, the rock properties and so on. Taking the typical slopes as example, the specific ecological recovery technology, and its main points are determined. For the covered type, the spoil ground, the contour hedgerow is used as its large area and low gradient. After restoration, the quality of eco-environment is evaluated and the score is7.02, the level is up to good rank. The result means the quality of the ecological environment will be significantly improved.
