Environment problem is growing seriously with the development of human society, especially for water pollution, therefore, water pollution control and recycled water use is urgently needed. Based on the policies and regulations of urban sewage disposal and recycled water utilization in Kunming, Kunming Marine Equipment Company (KMEC) tries to improve the wastewater treatment station in industrial estate. So as the effluent can reach the standard and be reused as the site afforesting, road sweeping and fire-fighting.The paper is based on the reconstruction project of water treatment research in KMEC industrial estate, using the wastewater as the research object, designing the technology reconstruction of the wastewater treatment station, determining the wastewater treatment agent which has good treatment effect through experimental study, at the same time through experiments study the isothermal adsorption and adsorption kinetic process of diatomite, determining the optimal diatomite modification ratio through adsorption experiments, using scanning electron microscopy (SEM),the integrated energy disperse spectroscopy (EDS),X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray fluorescence spectrometer (XRF) to test and analyze modified diatomite, finally through analyzing the cost composition of the wastewater processing system to get the construction investment cost and running cost in technology reconstruction of the wastewater treatment station in KMEC industrial estate, and analyzing the benefit. The research results will be beneficial to guide the technology reconstruction of the wastewater treatment station in KMEC industrial estate, providing the basis for the wastewater treatment, and it is helpful to develop and improve the application research of diatomite using in the wastewater treatment.The paper's design calculation on technology reconstruction and the wastewater experimental results showed that:(1) The technology reconstruction which is using punched hydrocyclone reaction pond and inclined pipe settling pond as the main structure will make wastewater treatment effect better and less investment in infrastructure.(2) The diatomite adsorption isotherm on the wastewater's TP, NH3-N, CODCr is correspond with Freundlich isothermal adsorption model.(3) The acid and alkali activation plays a positive role in the adsorption of diatomite, and the effect of alkali activation is better than acid activation. The maximum removal efficiency of NH3-N is40.1%, which is based on0.75g dosage of10%NaOH activated diatomite. On the other hand, the optimal removal efficiency of TP,CODCr and turbidity is resulted from1g dosage of which, the removal efficiency is respectively up to80.8%,53%and67.7%.(4) The experiment result of modified diatomite treated wastewater shown that when the dosage of10%NaOH activated diatomite is1.0g, TP, NH3-N,CODCr and turbidity removal efficiency is respectively98.3%,66.9%,84.8%and98.6%.(5) The results of activated diatomite tested by XRF,EDS,SEM show that, the main ingredient SiO2of diatomite is improved through the acid and alkali activated, and the surface impurities is reduced, the surface micropores are appeared, which is helpful for adsorption; XRD test results show that, the alkaline cleaning activation effect is better than pickling activation effect and the moderate basicity is good for improving the diatomite activation effect.(6) Through researching and analyzing the cost composition of the wastewater processing system, calculated the construction investment cost is1.26million yuan in technology reconstruction of the wastewater treatment station in KMEC industrial estate, and the operation process cost is510000yuan/a. (7) The results of benefit analysis show that after the technology reconstruction of the wastewater treatment station in KMEC industrial estate is being completed, it will promote its industrial production to develop sustainably and cut down its emissions of pollutants into the environment, at the same time, the effluent can be reused as the site afforesting, road sweeping and fire-fighting, can not only save part of water, reduce the pressure of using of water, but also can respond to the call of the government to build economical society.
