Degradable polyurethane could be widely used in many fields, especially in tissue engineering, drug control and release system, and medical plant materials, but not reported in antifouling paint. Geven its great tunable degradability of property, these resins have the potential use in environment-friendly and long efficient antifouling coatings. PCL prepolymers were synthesized with ε-CL, copolyesters of PCL/LA were synthesized by melt polymerization. The structure of copolyestes was characterized by using FT-IR,1H-NMR and XRD analyses, analysis and testing water absorption degradation and Mechanical Properties of the PCL/LA film.The results show that the water absorption of the PCL/LA films increases with the increase of lactide content. When the lactide content of20%, the water absorption is maximum,then water absorption decrease with the increase of lactide content.The degradation experiments show that the degradation rate slowed down with the increases of PCL content in PCL/LA,change polyester structure can regulat degradation rate.Mechanical property test results show that tensile strength, elongation at break and elastic modulus increase with the increase of lactide content.The frequency and dissipation variation of polyester films in seawater were detected by quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM-D). The change of film's surface morphology were observed by polarization microscope (POM), atomic force microscope (AFM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), it can be inferred the hydrolysis processes of PCL/LA. Hydrolysis of the early, part of the amorphous resin rapid hydrolysis, Then smaller spherulites hydrolysis, After the hydrolysis of amorphous and smaller degree of crystallinity of the resin, a caprolactone/lactide polyester hydrolysis to maintain a lower rate.The inhibit barnacle adhesion test showed that the degradation products have a good inhibition to microbial.By changing the monomer ratio, mechanical properties, water absorption and degradation of the copolymer can be adjusted.We can see it's potential value in the antifouling paints.
