The microorganism flocculant's effect is better than the traditional flocculant obviously in water treatment process. If the flocculant-producing bacteria can reduce Fe(Ⅲ) to Fe(II),and than degrade pollutants ,floccutant and degration will occur simultaneously.In this experiment , 30 strains of bacteria, which is able to produce flocculant , were isolated from activated sludge by dilution-plate method and streak plate method .at last , I got 1 efficient flocculant-producing bacteria strain , named X-6, and its flocculating is 98.5% .Flocculant effect caused by the bacteria depends on some substances which are in the supernatant of its fermentation liquor .The substances are extracellular metabolites of this kind of bacteria.The bacteria strain, X-6's best fermentation conditions:the liquid volume is 16% of the fermentation vessel, the fermentation liquor's pH is 8 ; the shaker's rotational speed is 160r/min,and its best flocculation conditions are as follows: the fermentation liquid is 1% of the tested; CaCl2, whose concentration is 1%, is 2% ; the tested liquid's pH is 8 . About 4.9g product can be extracted from the fermentation liquid, and its flocculating rate is 98.8%.Through a series of characteristics identification in morphology and physiology and biochemistry, the bacteria strain(X-6) is identified as Micrococcus varians and Micrococcus and Micrococcaceae.At the same time,The reduction , the bacteria strain(X-6) on Fe(III), was researched, discovering the reducibility is week, and the degreeofreduction is low.
