Clamping unit is an important system of injection molding machine.Due to good kinematics characteristics and mechanical properties, thetwo-toggle clamping unit is widely used in many varieties of moldingmachines. However, the clamping unit has complex mathematical model, andits design task is tremendous. It always has a long time to solve the problem ofparameters optimization and rigidity distribution. With the development of thecomputer aided design (CAD) technology, more new optimization algorithmand3D technology are used in clamping unit optimization design.This research developed a computer aided design system (CU-CAD)which could be applied to double toggle clamping unit. Its function is to linkthe optimization design and the modeling process, finish the optimizationdesign and3D modeling efficiently. There are optimization parameters oftoggle mechanism and standard parameters of standard parts in the systemwhich can be selected according to the design condition. The system used thepro-development technology of Pro/Engineer to realize the automaticmodeling through passing the design parameters to model.In this project, the system is used to design eight different specifications of clamping unit which could be applied to kinematics simulation to testinterference and movement characteristics. The constrast experiment was heldto prove the optimization performance of the force amplification ratio withdesign clamping unit and existing clamping unit. The structure of templatesare analysed by CAE software to test the rationality of design result. |
