Historic districts as the cities' cultural heritage play an important role on the continuation of the cities' culture. Throughout the historic districts at home and abroad for the protection and development research, we find that most of them follow the spirit of "Old Like the old" on the streets repairing, update, improve municipal facilities aspects. Through the historic district of the internal and external environment, mainly the protection of buildings and their surrounding environment and the comprehensive improvement of the research, to reproduce the characteristics of the cities'traditional culture. To make the historic districts traditional elements co-exist with the characteristics of the times, in the overall protection and development of system planning, based on the cities embody the spirit of the traditional style and character-based. Both at home and abroad, what they usually do is maintaining the original historic districts and the skeleton of street alley pattern. In order to do this, we must take a series of measures; streets' widening is not allowed to retain the original scale of the historic streets, and the illegal buildings and public facilities should be dismantled.At last, a fusion environment between traditional and modern will come ture. The ancient streets of Changsha (Tai Ping, of Longchi, white fruit) as the research object, researched by conducting in-depth analysis of the environmental situation and pointed out that the design process of updating their environmental problems and countermeasures. The first chapter is an introduction, including research background, purpose and significance of the study, research methods and the choice of objects and articles of the basic frame structure; The second chapter studies the theoretical aspects of the content, for the historic districts multicultural environmental design and the basis for providing theoretical guidance; The third chapter is an instance of the content level; The fourth chapter is about the historical district multicultural strategies and methods of environmental design; The fifth chapter is the conclusion on the general summary of the contents of the article.
