As the Launch of Weapon system will instantly generate high intensity impact force, it is likely to cause Weapon system vibration or run-out, which will affect shooting accuracy and stability. As the superiority of MR damper, such as simple structure, fast response, low power dissipation,and high output damping force, especially the output damping force characteristics of real-time adjustable in MR damper, a damper control system is designed and developed. According to the changes of dynamic characteristics in the process of gun firing, the size of the output damping force is adjusted real-timely to achieve the "platform effect" of recoil force and recoil displacement. It realized buffer action during gun launch.Main contents of this article are as follows:(1) A long-stroke single-shot MR damper is designed, which adapts to the environment of gun launch. The dissertation derived MR damper mechanical formula, and analysised the relation between the damping force and the model parameters.(2) A damper buffer control system is designed and developed, including hardware system and software system. Hardware control system included signal extraction, signal conditioning, DSP control, and power source drive circuit. Software control system implemented the designed control strategy by DSP controller.(3) The control requirements of MR buffer control system is analyzed, and the control objective is proposed to achieve the "platform effect" of recoil force and recoil displacement. Based on this, delay control, fuzzy-adaptive control and fuzzy-PID control strategy are designed.(4) MR buffer control system is verified by gun firing experiment. According to the results, the article analyzed the whole system's dynamic characteristics, and evaluated the control strategy's advantages and disadvantages. By comparing the peak damping force and platform width among three control strategies, the effect of fuzzy-PID control strategy is considered to be best.
