As the aplanetism and stability of the gun is affected by the impact force when the gun fires and gun recoil resistance is difficult to adapt to firing changes in the environment. the magneto-rheological damping technology will be used in the gun recoil system. By the characteristics of magneto-rheological(MR in short)damping force which is rapid response and easy control, using "platform effect" as control objective, the fine precision of the gun will be improved and the overall quality will be decreased by reducing the gun maximum recoil resistance and recoil stroke.Main contents of this article are as follows:(1) Force analysis of gun anti-recoil device were completed, the differential equation was established, the mathematical formula of the impact load of gun bore and component force of gun recoil force were derived, the virtual model of the anti-recoil device was created, the co-simulation was completed obtaining the curve of the recoil force-the recoil stroke, the defect of recoil force control used in the traditional gun and effect of the gun recoil force to gun performance were analyzed. (2)The MR damper mechanical formula was derived, the effect of the MR damper important structural parameters to damping force was explored, an effective design strategy was presented. According to a certain type of gun,a damper was designed from the aspects of structure and magnetic, the rationality of the design was proved by calculation and simulation, its dynamic model and electromagnetic model were built up. (3) The good adjustable range of the MR damper and the necessity of applying delay control was illustrated by the constant current control, taking the "platform effect" of the recoil force and recoil stroke as control objective, the PID control, fuzzy control and sliding mode variable structure control were designed and co-simulation was accomplished,the effect of gun recoil in the three control method was compared showing that the sliding mode control is the best. (4) The optimization variables, constraints and optimization goals of MR damper were proposed, according the deficiency of optimization for the MATLAB, the ANSYS optimization was completed, the optimization results were analyzed, the ANSYS optimization result was selected as the final result.
