Retaining wall is widely used in hydraulic engineering construction, highway engineering and municipal construction projects. With the constructing of highway and railway, the constructing of slope located in mountains, and the constructing of city of high-rise building, retaining wall is widely applied in the excavation and slope,gravity retaining wall commonly used before can not meet the needs of civil engineering. So light wall produced which is corresponding gravity retaining wall. But the light wall has its own drawbacks. So we can research a new retaining wall combined the gravity retaining walls and light wall, this is class of gravity retaining wall which is filled heart type and RC construction.This paper study on comparison with other types of retaining walls, designing theory and notes of pre-construction based on the experience and conclusions. Designing theory include calculation of soil pressure of this new retaining wall; Through the analysis of the actual earth pressure checking the retaining walls of stability against sliding, checking anti-overturning stability, checking eccentricity force base, checking basal stress; It reduced to the corresponding mechanical model according to the retaining wall structure and the forces, then according to mechanical model combined with structural mechanics and mechanics of materials draw the moment diagram of the retaining wall; Reinforcement under bending moment diagram and check the width of cracks. Finally, reach its design formula.
