ABSTRACT:Reactive powder concrete is a new type concrete material. Axial compressive strength and bending properties are the basic mechanical properties. Compressive strength and bending properties of RPC are experimently investigated for different steel fiber contents and curing conditions. It is shown that curing conditions has significant effect on the compressive strength and the content of steel fibers also plays an important role in the compressive ductility and bending toughness of reactive powder concrete specimen.Based on the material properties test, Three prestressed reactive powder concrete composite box-girders with corrugated steel webs were tested. Of three specimens, the first and second one are using reactive powder concrete for top and bottom flanges while the third one adopts C80 high-strength concrete for top and bottom flanges. The first and third beams are casted monolithically while the second beam is constructed segmentally. Results show normal stresses are nonlinearly distributed along the depth of the beam while shear stresses are uniformly distributed along the depth of the beam. But the normal stresses distribution mode along the width of the beam indicates that shear-lag effect is obvious in the top flange of the beam. The test specimens are also analyzed by using finite element method. The calculated results are in good agreement with measured results. Parametric analysis can be conducted in the future.
