HXDl electric locomotive is a major tool for train transportation in our country, so its diagnosis online and reliability evaluation play an important role in ensuring the safety of locomotive. At present, research on the diagnosis online and reliability evaluation of HXD1 locomotive in our country is still in its infancy. Therefore, the use of reasonable diagnosis and evaluation techniques, as well as developing an effective diagnosis and evaluation system mean very important theoretical and practical significance.Based on the detailed analysis of the locomotive fault characteristics and reliability evaluation indicators, this paper introduces information fusion and minimal path sets algorithm to discuss two key issues that are locomotive fault online diagnosis and system reliability evaluation. Moreover, overall design of HXD1 locomotive online diagnosis and reliability evaluation system are given is the paper.In order to solve the online diagnosis difficult problem caused by internal locomotive concurrent fault, coupling and other reasons, an enhanced DS based multiple information fusion diagnosis method is proposed. For the problem that there is evidence conflict caused by inaccurate evidence information when D-S information fusion diagnosis method is applied in locomotive, we use the weight coefficients to re-distribute the evidence information to make it more reliable. Also a distance measurement function based correlation factor method is proposed, in which the fused data by correlation factor is modified in order to ensure more accurate diagnosis. The paper combining HXD1 locomotive structure and fault characteristics,designs enhanced D-S multi-information fusion diagnosis mechanism for locomotive,and its diagnosis result is the basis for reliability evaluation.For traditional evaluation methods in locomotive reliability evaluation have the problem of too subjective, poor real-time, implementation complexity and the low efficiency, a minimal path set based locomotive reliability evaluation method is proposed. First, a traversal method is used to find out the minimum path sets which ensure the safe operation of locomotive and system contact matrix is created according to the minimum path sets. Secondly, minimal path sets are divided into several sub-series-parallel graphs by use of disjoint algorithm and use the Diagnostic data by nformation fusion diagnosis method to calculate the value of reliability of these sub-graphs. Finally, reliability of the whole system is obtained according to the relationship between the subgraphs.Finally, we achieve the HXD1 locomotive online diagnosis and reliability evaluation system both from software and hardware aspects. The practical operational results of this system in Daqin line demonstrate that the online diagnosis system and reliability evaluation system can provide great guarantee for the safe operation of locomotives.
