The task of production profile-log is to survey such parameters like flow, ore fluid, pressure, density at different pay zones, and flow is the most import one.Compared with other flowmeters, electromagnetic flowmeter has already been successfully applied in Daqing's water wells with so many advantages like simple structure, large survey scale, high precision, good corrosion resistance and low distribution on flow rate, no movable part or restrictor, not influenced by fluid physical parameters.Electromagnetic method was widely used in ground single-phase, conducting flow (for example, water) as well as injection profile-log of water injection well, polymer injection well. But no one try to use flow rate of two-phase oil and water in production profile-log. The topic has important theoretical significance on the development of profile-log. The subject studies the feasibility of basket electromagnetic flowmeter for applying in high water-cut oil-water. It also simulates and experiments.Inside magnetic field of the downhole basket electromagnetic flowmeter has been simulated by means of Ansys finite element simulation software. On the basis, two optimized excite structure designs can be acquired. First, with the well-distributed magnetic field excite structure; the optimized structural parameters of iron core in theory can be produced with sufficient analyses which are acquired by simulated data on MATLAB mathematics computation tool to analyze inside magnetic field of flowmeter fully. Second, with the theory of weighting function of magnetic field excite structure, the simulated design is to research multiplied distribution of flowmeter inner magnetic strength by weight function, and define two indexes to evaluate its distribution. And then, the best excite structure parameters can be acquired in theory, fluid's average flow rate and induced electromotive force are ranged on direct proportion. And then, two optimized designs are compared and screened the better one.Basket electromagnetic flowmeter is dynamically studied on large-scale multiphase flow experimental installations. The result shows that: first, instrument is in good condition, and survey is available. Under the oil-water phase, result has nothing to do with water ratio. With higher water ratio, frequency effect increases. Second, reducing flow pass can decrease survey minimum and reach expected effect, error can be controlled within±5%.
