Study Of Pedestrian Mall Plant Landscape Design In Case Of Chengdu City

City pedestrian mall is a specific street space for pedestrian oriented and commercial consumption. Construction of pedestrian mall plant landscape has many different from other public space. Pedestrian mall plant landscape features should meet the ecological and the aesthetic needs. By studying pedestrian mall plant landscape of domestic and abroad, low greening rate, a single landscape effects, narrow shading space are the common problem. These problems are caused by the uncertainty of the relationship between plant landscape space and pedestrian mall space. It is based on understand fully the relationship to design an attractive plant landscape space.Firstly, the available information of pedestrian mall plant landscape is collected by this paper. Based on this material, the existing methods and principles of pedestrian mall plant landscape designing are study by the theory of landscape ecology, aesthetics, and external space design. Secondly, three representative pedestrian mall in Chengdu, Chunxi Road, Wenshufang, Width alley are analyzed. Chunxi Road is a modern commercial district, Wenshufang, Width alley are traditional historical and cultural district. By investigate the plant landscape of three street according their characteristics, the pros and cons of these landscape is discussed from different aspects of the plant species and growth conditions, plants shading effect, planting plants, landscape patterns, spatial sequence. It is used to verify or negative the existing landscape design methods and principles. Finally, based on the above study, a summary of pedestrian mall plant landscape theory is got. It has reference value to future pedestrian mall plant landscape design.
